Iranian professor granted Georg Forster Research Award

Zanjan, IRNA – Alexander von Humboldt Foundation has in its summer conference to chosen Iranian professor Dr. Babak Karimi as one of the receivers of its Georg Forster Research Award.

Dr. Karimi is a lecturer and also the Dean of Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences in Zanjan, Iran.

Alexander von Humboldt Foundation holds a conference each year in August to grant its Georg Forster Award to six distinguished international researchers.

The foundation has thousands of members from over 140 countries and grants the award to honor those whose basic research works have had an in-depth, lasting effect on the related field.

So far, 57 receivers of Georg Forster Award have also been granted Nobel awards.

Dr. Karimi who is a chemistry professor will officially receive the award in April 2022.

He has also previously won such positions as the lifelong scholarship of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in 2004, the first place in basic research in Kharazmi Youth Festival in 2017 and is one of the most referenced scientists in ISI.
