Iranian swimmer collects 4th gold medal at Asian Para Games
Jakarta, Iranian para-swimmer, who has proved to be head and shoulders above all his rivals, gained his fourth gold medal in 2018 Asian Para Games in Indonesia.
Izadyar, who had succeeded to pocket three first-place medals for Iran's caravan over the past three days, competed against swimmers from Japan, Kazakhstan and India in the 100m breaststroke SB9 on Wednesday.
He managed to get his hands on the wall at 1.14.71 seconds, winning his fourth swimming race at the Asian Para Games.
Iranian swimming prodigy had earlier bagged three other gold medals in the 200m mixed, the 100m butterfly and the 100m freestyle.
The third Asian Para Games, hosted by Jakarta, are held from October 8-16, with 2,880 athletes from 41 countries, competing against each other in 13 disciplines.
Overall 685 medals will be awarded, out of which 300 medals will be given to female athletes, 343 to male athletes and 41 symbol pendants and necklaces will be awarded in the mixed and team sports.
A total of 209 Iranian para-athletes have taken part in the games.
