Iranian vocalist performs in Konya, Turkey

Ankara, Iranian vocal artist and musician Homayoun Shajarian and Shams ensemble performed Iranian traditional music by the tomb of Jalal-ud-Din Rumi, 13th-century Persian poet in the Turkish city of Konya.

Accompanied by Shams ensemble and Pournazeri brothers, Shajarian staged the concert in the 15th Konya Mystic Music Festival and performed tracks composed by Keykhosro Pournazeri.

World-renowned vocal artist Mohammadreza Shajarian had also performed in the same music festival in 2015.

The 2018 Konya Mystic Music Festival is the 15th edition of the event with the participation of 133 musical group from 47 countries.

The annual music festival marks the anniversary of the birth of Jalal-ud-Din Rumi, who is also known as Molana.
