Iran’s Defense Minister briefs Parliament
Tehran, Iran's Minister of Defense Sunday briefed the Iranian lawmakers on the latest status of the country's defense capabilities as well as the Ministry's performance.
On the eve of Iran's national day of defense industry, Brigadier General Amir Hatami presented a report on the latest developments of the country's defense establishment in a closed session, Fatemeh Zowlqadr, an Iranian MP told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
She added that the minister answered a number of questions raised by the Iranian lawmakers at the session about the defensive and strategic status of the country.
Meanwhil, Behrouz Nemati, another Iranian MP, told IRNA that during the session, the Defense Minister gave a detailed report on some significant developments, including missile technology, unveiling a new fighter jet, drones and destroyers being deployed in various fields of Iran's defensive system.
The General has also elaborated on the latest developments in defense diplomacy and Iran's presence in international gatherings pertaining defense issues, Nemati said.
Interaction with neighbor countries and fighting terrorist groups in the region were also discussed by the minister, the lawmaker added.
