Iran’s defense power to be boosted: Parliament Vice-Speaker
Tehran, Iran's Parliament Vice-Speaker Masoud Pezeshkian vowed Monday that Majlis will support the country's defense power through its committees of national security and budget.
Pezeshkian made the remarks following a closed session during which Minister of Defense Brigadier General Amir Hatama briefed the Iranian lawmakers on the latest status of the country's defense capabilities as well as the Ministry's performance.
The vice-speaker described the Defense Minister's report as informative.
The report was presented to the Iranian MPs on the eve of Iran's national day of defense industry.
'The developments in Iran's defense industry have thwarted the enemies' plots as they would not easily harbor the thought of invading Iran,' Pezeshkian said.
He added, 'The ministry's personnel have achieved the most out of the least; therefore, the Parliament and National Security and Planning and Budgeting Committees will try to boost the country's defense power this and the following years.'
