Iran’s IRGC busts largest amount of smuggled fuel
Bandar Abbas, Iran has seized the biggest smuggled fuel consignment in the Persian Gulf.
'The biggest smuggled fuel consignment, containing more than 12.5 million liters, was detected and seized on 10,000ton ship in the Persian Gulf waters and the Strait of Hormuz,' the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Commander Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri told reporters on Wednesday.
The military official said 21 individuals from various regional and nonregional countries have been arrested in connection.
The IRGC Naval commander described the operation as a heavy blow to a network of fuel smugglers in the southern Hormozgan Province.
