Iran’s Khuzestan Province exports $5.2bn worth of goods

Dezful, IRNA – Iran’s southwestern province of Khuzestan exported commodities worth 5.2 billion dollars in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2022, to October 22, 2022), an official said.

Hamidreza Fallah, Director General of Khuzestan province’s Industry, Mining and Trade Department, told IRNA on Saturday that the southwestern province exported goods such as steel, food, chemical, and petrochemical products to countries, including Iraq, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and some other littoral states of the Persian Gulf region.

According to the director general, the scale of export in this year surged by at least 20 percent in comparison to the export in the same period last year.

Some important jobs have been done concerning export affairs, which helped increase the trade, namely the rise of trade profit, the decrease of tariffs, and the activation of cooperatives for people residing in border areas, the official went on to say.

He further noted that the province plans to set up border markets in order to improve the available capacity for the export of commodities of the region.
