Tehran, Iran's president on Friday extended congratulations on Austrian National Day, saying that Tehran welcomes constructive relations with all countries, particularly Austria, which is considered as a reliable partner in Europe.

President Hassan Rouhani in a message congratulated his counterpart Alexander Van der Bellen on Austria's National Day and emphasized the special status of Austria as the host of international organizations.

'In light of the agreements reached during my visit to Vienna, and by making use of the existing capacities, the relations between the two countries would expand in line with mutual interests and enhancement of sustainable international peace and security,' the Iranian president said.

He also wished the Austrian president and people prosperity and well-being.

On October 26, 1955, the Austrian Parliament passed the constitutional law on permanent neutrality. The day has been celebrated as Austria National Day since 1965.
