Iran’s President to attend Parliament in late August
Tehran, President Rouhani will attend the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) in late August to answer lawmakers' questions about current economic situation, a senior Member of Parliament said Monday.
President Hassan Rouhani will respond to questions posed by MPs on August 28 after a meeting with the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the spokesman for the Parliament's presiding board told reporters.
Earlier this month, a number of the Iranian lawmakers proposed to question President Rouhani, Behrouz Nemati said.
He added the questions would mainly concern the country's current economic situation and the government's policies to control the depreciation of Rial against foreign currencies.
Iran's Minister of Defense Brigadier General Amir Hatami briefed the Iranian lawmakers on the latest status of the country's defense capabilities as well as the Ministry's performance in a session on Monday.
