Iran’s senior diplomat confers with Lebanese speaker
Beirut, Iranian foreign minister's senior advisor Hossein Jaberi Ansari who is currently in Lebanon as President Hassan Rouhani's special envoy sat down for talks with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Monday.
Commenting on Rouhani's innovation in sending messages to leaders of friendly countries and Iran's stances following US withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal, Ansari said that Tehran has held intensive talks with JCPOA partners over the past months and it stays in the deal only if the other parties pave the way for Iran benefiting from it.
During the meeting, he also presented a report on Iran's diplomatic efforts to solve Syrian and Yemeni crises.
Berri, for his part, hailed Iran's constructive attempts for an agreement with JCPOA members and described President Rouhani's move to send special envoys to different countries to explain Iran's stances as timely and wise measure.
Stressing the need for immediate settlement of regional crises, Yemeni crisis in particular, he said that such a development will help improve regional cooperation.
Earlier, Ansari met with President Michel Aoun and submitted Rouhani's message to him.
