Iraq prioritizes water issue in talks with Iran, Turkey

Tehran, Iraqi Parliament speaker Muhammad al-Halbusi stressed solving water crisis in Iraq and especially in Basra saying, water issue is the most important priority in the upcoming talks with Iran and Turkey.

According to Iraqi media 'Alghad Press', al-Halbusi made the remarks in a meeting with Hassan Al-Janabi, Iraqi Minister of Water Resources on Wednesday.

During the meeting both sides discussed water shortage crisis in Basra and the ways to confront the problem.

Al-Halbusi also underlined the importance of facing challenges and creating opportunities for growth and sustainable development to pave the way for maintaining water security.
