Iraqi speaker urges Muslims to recognize Quds as Palestine capital
Tehran- Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Salim al-Jabouri urged Muslim countries to recognize Holy Quds as capital of Palestine.
Al-Jabouri made the remarks Monday in the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Palestine Committee meeting held in Tehran.
It is our legitimate responsibility to defend Palestine, he said referring to US President Donald Trump's recent choice to relocate the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Beit ul-Muqaddas.
Trump's decision should be considered since he made it under the pressure of the Zionists lobby, Larijani noted.
He called for blocking the US to do measures, and said that all acts should be based on international decisions.
The decision should be proposed in the United Nations Security Council to make the US halt its assitance in creating violence.
The event is underway due to the recent developments about Palestine following US President Donald Trump's announcement on December 6 to recognize the occupied Beit-ul Moqaddas as the capital city of the Israeli regime.
