Islamic Republic has no problem with Dervishes: Senior MP
Tehran, Noting that the Islamic Republic has no problem with the Dervishes, Alaeddin Boroujerdi a senior Member of Parliament said on Wednesday that the recent issue is actually a case related to those hampering social security.
In a street protest in a northern district of Tehran on Monday night, five security forces were killed.
In addition to the five security forces, who were killed in separate car-ramming attacks and stabbing, 30 others were injured in the protest initially ignited by a group of Dervishes.
The protest was subdued by the security forces after a few hours and the main instigators were arrested.
Boroujerdi, the head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said that it's not clear yet that all the 360 people arrested are Dervishes.
He said that the accurate statistics on the arrestees has to be announced by the relevant officials.
Those who undermine the security of the society have to be brought to justice no matter to which group they belong.
