Japan calls for expansion of ties with Tehran
Beijing, Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Yoshimasa HAYASHI said on Sunday that Tokyo is willing to expand all-out relations and cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Japan Morteza Rahmani Movahed on Sunday.
Referring to historical ties between the two countries he called for expansion of cooperation in various fields such as cultural heritage, film making, sporting and cultural cooperation.
Japan is ready to help Iran to conduct cultural week in Tokyo, he said.
He also called for Tehran's support for Japan to hold Expo 2025 in Osaka.
In the meeting, Iran's ambassador, for his part, highlighted cultural and historical relations and cooperation between the two countries.
