Kazakh official: Astana welcomes expansion of ties with Tehran
Moscow, Deputy Director of the Office of Control and Planning of the Kazakh President's Office, said that his country welcomes the development of cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Serik EygzIbayev pointed to the existence of various arenas for cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan, especially with regard to the neighboring the Caspian Sea, and said, 'Iran is a close neighbor of us in the Caspian Sea and a friend of Kazakh nation.
Referring to the cultural proximity of the two countries, he said, 'We must take steps to know each other and we are ready for such actions with Iranian partners.
Deputy Director of the Office of Control and Planning of Office of Kazakhstan President pointed to holding of the Caspian media conference in Astrakhan, Russia, and said, 'Such conferences should be held not only in Astrakhan but also in the five Caspian coastal countries.'
EygzIbayev noted, Holding a media conference will help form a common area of information in the Caspian littoral states and we can coordinate our actions, we can tell our nations how they live in neighboring countries.
