Kazakhstan ready to host any future IranUS talks: Envoy
Tehran, Kazakh envoy said his country's impartiality made it credible for hosting the nuclear talks of Iran and world powers, and reiterated that the country is still ready for any future talks between the two sides.
'If the US wants to negotiate with Iran, and Tehran accepts it, we are ready to host the talks,' Askhat Orazbai said in a press conference on Wednesday.
'The talks, however, are not on agenda,' he added.
Washington withdrew from the nuclear deal it signed with Iran and major world powers in 2018. US President Donald Trump has called on Iran for renegotiation.
Noting that the hosting role is not specific to the nuclear issue, the ambassador said Kazakhstan is the host to the Syrian talks too, and it is ready to host the talks between Russia and Ukraine if the two are willing.
Commenting on the coming presidential election in Kazakhstan, Orazbai said that the country enjoys the required foundation for independence, with the election being the most competitive vote throughout the country's history as seven candidates are running in the election.
