Kuwait’s MoI warns against usage of banned GHB substance

The Interior Ministry on Wednesday warned against the use of Gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB), a psychoactive substance banned internationally.

The ministry's Public Relation and Media Department said that the substance was used medically at hospitals for sedation before surgery, saying that it also could be used as a narcotic.

GHB is a colorless and scentless liquefied substance that when mixed with other ingredients could be used as a psychoactive drug and is actually illegal according to law 48, 1987.

The American FDA and UN agencies warned against GHB and banned across the globe, indicated the department, urging citizens to stay vigilant and report any use of the drug in Kuwait.
