Larijani: New US sanctions runs counter to nuclear deal
Tehran, July 26, - Majlis (parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani said on Wednesday that the new set of sanctions leveled by the US against the Islamic Republic of Iran runs counter to nuclear deal signed between Iran and Group 5+1 (US, China, Russia, France, UK and Gernmany).
Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with the Lebanese parliamentary delegation in Tehran on Wednesday.
It is quite evident that the axes and text of sanctions which were leveled against Iran and Russia on Tuesday has roots in the US animosity towards the Lebanese resistance movement, he said.
During the meeting, Larijani congratulated the Lebanese parliamentary delegations for their recent victories in fight against terrorist groups in Arsal of Lebanon which will remain in history, he said.
Regretfully, some adventurist countries in the region seek to confront with the resistance forces, he said.
There is no doubt that the status of resistance mainly Lebanese Hezbullah has been changed dramatically and their status in the region is crystal clear, Larijani said.
Referring to the wrong policies and malpractice of some of the countries in the region, he said today 'we have been fed up with novice political thinking in dealing with regional developments which has turned to a major problems for the region, but fortunately the resistance of the Lebanese resistance help uphold the status of the axe and we are now witnessing their consecutive defeats in Iraq and Syria.
As the number of victories of the resistance movement mount, the enmity of the enemies will be intensified and 'we are now witnessing that some countries in the region seeking the US assistance call for imposing sanctions against Hezbullah, but in fact they will defame themselves', he said.
The recent sanctions were against nuclear deal and their move proves that the Americans are not determined to put an end to terrorist crisis in the region and in fact their measures will backfire, Larijani said.
Iran has no doubt to suppress terrorist groups in support of resistance movement and regard it as among its duty because terrorists defame world Muslims, Larijani said.
Lebanese parliamentarian Mohammad Raad, for his part, in the meeting highlighted the victories of the Lebanese resistance in the fight against terrorist groups and said the enemies front which had been unified is now suffering discords thanks to the resistance front.
Fortunately, the Lebanese resistance front is much stronger now and strongly stands against all challenges, he said.
