Lebanese MP: Quds main issue of Muslim Ummah
Beirut, A Lebanese Member of Parliament Anwar Juma said that under the current situation and the conspiracy against Holy Quds through the 'Deal of Century', the Quds Day has s special meaning this year.
Speaking to IRNA, Anwar Juma termed Holy Quds as the main issue, saying Lebanon will not lose its compass, a reference to the history of Holy Quds used to be the first Qibla of Muslims.
He said that US threats to Iran will get nowhere, adding that threats are posed by a superpower but it is time for our victory.
Those who follow US lead have weak political structure and lack popular support in their own countries, he reiterated.
During his election campaign, Trump has renounced the US wars the Middle East waged against nations of the region, but, he has currently resorted to provocation and blackmail, Juma added.
US strategy will not work on Iran and threats will have no effect.
He deplored the fact that certain Arab countries want to normalize ties with the Zionist regime of Israel, saying that they lack popular support and they fear from their own people.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Lebanese lawmaker described Iran, Lebanon relations as good and based on mutual respect.
Holy Quds is a religious sanctuary for followers of all religions, including Muslims, Christians and Jews who have records of centuries of coexistence, he noted.
The enemies of Palestine and Quds tried over the past year to raid the holy city and recognize it as the capital of aggressors, President Rouhani said in protest at recognition of the city as capital of the Zionist regime by some states, including the US.
