Lebanese President due in Tehran

Beirut, Aug 21, In response to President Hassan Rouhani invitation, Lebanese President Michel Aoun said he is to take a trip to Iran.

Aoun made the remarks Monday in a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari.

Lebanese President expressed congratulations over Rouhani's re-election as Iran's president.

He also stressed the need to promote relations between Tehran and Beirut.

During his three-day visit, Ansari held talks with Lebanese President Michel Aoun, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Foreign Minister Gebran Basil and he is supposed to hold meeting with Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri as well as several senior politicians and religious leaders.
