Light quake jolts city in Southern Iran

Kerman, A light quake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale jolted Kahnouj city in Southern Iranian province of Kerman on Sunday afternoon.

According to a report by seismography center affiliated to Tehran University Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 16:18 hours local time (11:48 hours GMT) and its epicenter was at 57.71 degrees longitude and 28.13 degrees latitude and in depth of 10 kilometers underground.

There was no immediate report on the possible casualties or losses.

Kahnouj city is located 330 kilometers south of Kerman city, capital of Kerman province.
