Light quake rocks SE Iran

Kerman, An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale shook Kuhbanan in southeastern province of Kerman on Sunday.

According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 17:05 hours local time (12:35 GMT) in an area located at 31.33 degrees latitude and 56.32 degrees longitude and in the depth of 10 km underground.

The quake had no casualties or property damage, Head of Kerman province crisis management office Majid Saeedi told the Islamic Republic Nerws Agency (IRNA).

Iran sits on several major seismological fault lines, making it one of the world's most quake-prone countries.
