Light quake rocks Yazd

Tehran, An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale jolted Robat-e Posht-e Badam in the central province of Yazd on Wednesday.

According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 15:10 hours local time (10:40 GMT) in an area located at 32.82 degrees latitude and 55.74 degrees longitude.

No report on possible damage to life or property has been released yet.

Iran sits on major fault lines and is prone to near-daily earthquakes.
