Mineral Exports up 15%
Khorramabad,Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade for Mining and Mining Industries Affairs said on Monday that exports of all types of minerals increased by 15 percent in the first six months of this Iranian calendar year (started on March 21) compared to the figure in the same period last year.
Jafar Sarqini said on Sunday that the exports earned the country about five billion dollars in the period under study.
He emphasized that sanctions did not have an impact on the decline of the country's mineral industry, adding steel, copper, limestone and zinc are export minerals which are exported to many countries of the Middle East, Europe and Africa.
Sarqini noted, 'Regarding proper conditions in Aligudarz city in Lorestan Province in terms of lime and stone mines, soon a paper production factory will be launched in the city.'
The Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade also said the country's largest Ferroalloy plant in Lorestan has been able to meet most of the country's needs in the area.
