Bushehr, Export of minerals in the first nine months of current Iranian calendar year of 1397 (started on March 21) earned the country a revenue of $7.2 billion, according to an official.
which shows a desired level of increase compared to that last year.
The Head of Iran's Mine House Mohammad Reza Bahraman said on Tuesday that the revenue was obtained despite the anti-Iran US' sanctions.
Bahraman said last year, a total of $ 8.7 billion worth of mineral products were exported from the country which is expected to increase significantly by the end of this year.
He noted that currently 5,500 mines are active in the country, and the development of mines is one of the top priorities of Iran's Mine House.
Bahraman highlighted, 'The country is rich in minerals that can be exported to many countries in addition to supplying it internally.'
Referring to the capacities of the Bushehr Province in the field of extraction and export of minerals, he said, Given the province's access to free waters, establishing an export terminal for minerals in order to boost exports to the region is necessary.
Bahraman added that the province's geographical proximity with various Persian Gulf states has provided an important opportunity for exporting goods, with over three million tons of minerals from the province shipped to the Persian Gulf states, including Kuwait and Qatar, during the past 10 months.
