Minister: Iran to increase export of medicine to Baku
Baku, Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education Hassan Hashemi has hoped for preparation of suitable grounds for more export of medicine from Iran to Baku.
Hasemi made the remarks following his meeting with Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Republic Shahin Mustafayev here on Friday.
Hashemi, who arrived in Baku on Thursday, told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) that the two countries have wide range of relations in all fields among them the field of health and treatment.
He said the two sides had effective and constructive negotiations on Thursday and in Friday meeting the issues of treatment insurances and exchanging mutual experiences are to be discussed.
Given the intention of both heads of state and common interests between the two neighboring nations, the meetings may have good achievements, Hashemi said.
He expressed the hope that the two countries will have more joint venture projects and exchange know-how.
During visit of President Aliyev to Iran in past year, it was agreed that Iran will increase its medicine export to Azerbaijan Republic and bolster cooperation to expand the medicine industry.
Hashemi at the head of a delegation, comprising Health Ministry officials, chancellors of Medical Science Universities and private sector activists, arrived in Baku on Thursday morning.
The Iranian minister held meetings with his Azeri counterpart Oktay Shiraliyev, Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev and Minister of Labor and Social Protection Sahil Babayev.
The Iranian delegation is also to be received by President Ilham Aliyev and meet a number of treatment centers in Azerbaijan Republic.
