Modafe’an-e Aseman-e Velayat drill kicks off
Tehran, IRNA - The joint Modafe'an-e Aseman-e Velayat (Defenders of Skies under Guardianship of Supreme Jurisprudence) military drill started with deploying domestic missile systems, radar, reconnaissance, electronic warfare, communication systems and visual surveillance network in Dasht-e Kavir on Tuesday morning.
The event was held in the presence of the Commander of the Air Defense Headquarters Brigadier General Qader Rahimzadeh.
Intelligence and reconnaissance flights were made by Army and IRGC drones in the general training area.
Deploying IRGC Regional Command and Control (ROC) systems, Meraj, Fatah-2, Bashir and Quds indigenous radar systems, tactical information and reconnaissance systems, electro-optical systems and electronic warfare systems are among programs of the drill, Rahimzadeh said.
He noted that the event is aimed at establishing safe layers of air defense to protect Iran's air borders, as well as comprehensive defense of the country's sensitive and vital centers.
