Moderate quake jolts South East Iran
Zahedan, Director General for Crisis Management at Sistan-Baluchestan governor office Abdolrahman Shahnavazi said that a 4.5-magnitude earthquake jolted Iran's southeastern part early Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 18:23 hours local time (14:53 GMT) at the depth of 19 km underground.
No report has so far been released on the likely casualties or damage to the property.
Iran sits on major fault lines and is prone to near-daily earthquakes.
