Mogherini: G4+1 countries stress normalizing economic relations with Iran
Vienna, EU Foreign Policy chief Federica Mogherini on Friday expressed the resolve of all G4+1 countries to normalize economic relations with Iran.
Speaking at the end of the ministerial level meeting of Iran and G4+1 countries at Vienna's Cobourg Hotel, Mogherini said that all the negotiating parties underlined the need for the continuation of Iran nuclear deal and finding practical ways to normalize economic relations with Iran.
The Joint Commission met to discuss the way forward to ensure the continued implementation of the nuclear deal in all its aspects and review unresolved issues arising from the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the agreement, urging the full implementation of the accord by Iran, Mogherini said.
The EU Foreign Policy chief also said that the participants welcomed the 11th report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) of May 24 confirming that Iran is abiding by its nuclear-related commitments.
Expressing satisfaction with Iran's performance within the framework of the deal, Mogherini said that the participants affirmed their commitment to practical solutions for normalizing economic relations with Iran in good faith and in a constructive atmosphere.
the continuation of Iran's export of oil and petrochemicals, clear and effective support for economic operators trading with Iran, particularly small and medium sized enterprises, the practical support for trade with and investment in Iran, and the protection of companies from the extraterritorial effects of US sanctions were also underlined by the participants in the meeting, Mogherini said.
