NE Iran building collapse casualties mount to 11

Mashad, The death toll of the building collapse in Mashad, northeastern Iran reached to 11, deputy governor of Razavi Khorasan for political and security affairs said.

Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Saturday, Hassan Heidari said 7 people were killed rightaway and four others were killed in the hospital.

He added that 4 others were also hospitalized.

'According to the preliminary observations, an explosion caused the incident. Further research will be carried on,' Haidari said.

A Red Crescent official Hassan Gudarzi said that rescue dogs are being used to find the people under the rubbles.
