Negotiations to Launch ChabaharKarachi Passenger Sea Line
Negotiations for the launch of the ChabaharKarachi marine passenger line are under way with plans to deploy Iranian ferry boats on the ChabaharMuscat route.
During the visit of the foreign minister to the Shahid Kalantari passenger terminal, Behrouz Aghaee, Director General of Ports and Maritime Affairs of Sistan and Baluchestan Province said that the terminal was equipped and launched in 2016 within three months, and since that year, passenger vessels have started operating between Chabahar and Muscat in Oman.
Last March, an investment contract was signed and a 150person float was purchased by an Iranian company, which will begin its operation from the end of June in the ChabaharMuscat line.
Behrouz Aghaee, Director General of Ports and Maritime Affairs of Sistan and Baluchestan Province also mentioned the plan on launching passenger trip line between Chabahar and the port of Karachi in Pakistan, and stated that it was agreed upon by the Minister of Roads and Urban Planning's trip to Pakistan and is now being pursued by the two ambassadors.
