OANA president highlights IRNA role
Baku� President of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) highlighted the role of Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) in the organization.
Speaking to IRNA, AzerTAc's Director General Aslan Aslanov who is also president of World Congress of News Agencies and OANA said that registering World Congress of News Agencies as an official institution in the UN with participation of IRNA is on the agenda.
He referred to the cooperation documents inked between AzerTAc and IRNA, and said that 'AzerTAc is interested in sharing IRNA's experience as a progressive news agency in the region.'
The official pointed to the importance of information in the world today, and said OANA member-states are producing two-third of world news and can influence the regional developments.
