Official: 59 more Iranians die from coronavirus pandemic

Head of Iran’s Health Ministry’s Public Relations Office Kianoush Jahanpour said on Saturday that 104,072 people out of a total of 133,521 infected with the coronavirus (COVID-19) have recovered whereas 7,359 have lost their lives.

Jahanpour further noted that 1,869 new infected cases have been detected and 59 others have lost their lives since yesterday (Friday).

Iran has taken numerous steps to stop the spread of the disease, ranging from closing schools and universities to canceling cultural and religious gatherings. It is also constantly disinfecting and sanitizing public places.
