Official calls for using capacity of Iranian diaspora in sanctions era

Tehran, The Iranian acting minister of science, research and technology for international and scientific cooperation urged taking advantage of Iranian scientists, academics and researchers residing abroad in the sanctions era.

Iranians who are living abroad and have dual nationality are regarded as a valuable opportunity for development of international cooperation during the sanctions era, Hossein Salar Amoli told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

He said that Iranians regardless of the countries they are living in can offer services to their country in various fields.

Amoil referred to the US unilateral sanctions against Iran and noted that Iran's scientific relations with other countries are strong enough and it is unlikely to be effected by the embargos in the future.

US President Donald Trump announced on May 8 that Washington would pull out of Iran's nuclear deal and re-impose nuclear sanctions on the country.

This is while most world powers, including Russia, China, and the European Union have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of the world peace and security.
