One killed, 41 injured in Iraq protests

Baghdad, Protests in Baghdad and other Iraqi cities claimed the lives of 1 and injured 41 more on Friday, according to Iraq Health Ministry.

Based on the reports people held peaceful protests in Karbala, Amarah, Basra, Kut, Nasiriyah and Babil.

This is while, protests in Baghdad, Dhi Qar and Al Diwaniyah cities turned into conflicts between protestors and security forces.

In Baghdad, 30 protestors and security forces were injured.

Dhi Qar conflicts resulted in injuring 4 protestors and 6 security forces.

Al Diwaniyah protests claimed the life of one who attempted to break into a military base.

The military base is reported to belong to Badr Organization which is an Iraqi political party headed by Hadi Al-Amiri.

On Friday, thousands of Iraqis protested against government's inattention to public services, long-term electricity disconnection, water crisis, problems in agriculture and unemployment.
