Over 188 tons of narcotics discovered in 3 months: Iran Police
Tehran, Iranian Anti-Narcotics Police announced Sunday that over 188 tons of illegal drugs have been found since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 21).
The discovered drugs were mostly opium, Brigadier Mohammad Masoud Zahedian told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), adding that considerable amount of heroin and morphine were also found.
Most of the drugs were located in eastern Iran, he noted
He added that 106 members of narcotics production and distribution rings were also arrested.
