Pak analyst slams Iran terror attack
Islamabad, Senior Pakistan analyst strongly condemned the terrorist attack in southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz and expressed condolences to the families of martyrs.
In an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Director General of Measac Research Institute Abdullah Gul said that imperialist powers are behind all acts of terrorism in the Muslim world.
At least 25 people, including women and children, were killed and more than 60 others were injured during a terror attack which took place during a military parade held to mark the 38th anniversary of an eight-year imposed war against Iran.
The self-proclaimed Saudi-affiliated Al-Ahwaz terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack.
I am deeply saddened on what has happened in Ahvaz where children and women were also not spared, it was actually a barbaric attack on humanity, Abdullah Gul said.
He said that the attack was horrifying and 'the more I say is less about it but in the end I offer my sympathy and prayers for the departed souls'.
He went on to say that curbing terrorism in the region is becoming impossible now days. He said that terrorists have no boundaries they do not represent any culture, religion, they are just inhuman.
Whoever conducts a terrorist activity anywhere in the world is actually against basic principles of Islam, said the analyst.
Abdullah Gul added that Iran is a very special country because of its position against US and all imperial powers in past. Iran is a nation which has always stood up against atrocities of imperial powers, the expert noted.
He strongly believed it is time that Muslim Ummah should unite because rest of the world treats Muslims as one entity. We should also forget about the sectarian divide and we should become one, only then we can fight the menace of terrorism, he said.
The analyst expressing his views said that terrorism is creation of imperialist powers there is no question about this.
He said that pictures of former US Senator John Mccain with Daesh head went viral on social media but nobody had interrogated him about his meetings with the head of a militant group.
Abdullah Gul also questioned the role of United Nations in protecting the rights of the Muslims. He said unfortunately Muslim Ummah is divided that is why the western powers and the United States are using Muslim countries against each other.
He said unfortunately Muslim world has become very insensitive, 'look what is happening in Palestine and other Muslim countries but we are just condemning whatever suits us.'
The expert added we have to understand no matter we like each other or not, but we all are Muslims and we have to unite against a common enemy. Why we are silent on Zionist atrocities on innocent Palestinians, he asked.
He said now Arabs are fighting with each other which is very horrifying and 'I pray that we should get united otherwise it would be nightmare like situation for Muslims'.
