Pakistan caretaker cabinet takes oath

Islamabad, Pakistan's Caretaker Federal Cabinet took oath at a ceremony in Islamabad on Tuesday.

President Mamnoon Hussain administered oath to the caretaker ministers at President House.

he cabinet includes former governor of State Bank Shamshad Akhtar, former Pakistan ambassador to the United Nations Abdullah Hussain Haroon, former senator Roshan Khursheed Bharucha, Mohammad Yousuf Sheikh, Mohammad Azam Khan, and Syed Ali Zafar.

The ceremony was also attended by Caretaker Prime Minister retired Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk.

The federal government completed its five-year constitutional term on May 31, after which the interim government took over the reins of the country.

This is the first time in Pakistan's history that a second consecutive democratic government has completed its five-year tenure. Pakistan is set to hold general elections on July 25.
