Pakistan desires better ties with regional, neighboring states: PM
Islamabad, Aug 9, New Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says his government desires to improve relations with all regional and neighboring states.
The prime minister has said Pakistan has strengthened its ties with China, whereas its ties with Russia have witnessed new openings.
He said that better ties with India are significant for resolving the issue of Kashmir.
Newly appointed foreign minister of Pakistan Khawaja Muhammad Asif earlier had also urged India and Afghanistan to reciprocate peace moves of Pakistan with positivity for durable peace in the region.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has been elected as the new Prime Minister of Pakistan after the Supreme Court had disqualified former Prime Minister Nawaz Sahrif from holding any public office in Panama papers case.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi after taking oath of his office earlier had reiterated that Iran and Pakistan need to strengthen more brotherly and friendly ties.
Recently Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani accompanied by a parliamentary delegation visited Iran to participate in the oath taking of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani for the second term.
