Pakistani boxers likely to be trained in Iran for Asian Games
Islamabad, Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) is likely to send boxers for training to Iran in July to prepare for the Asian Games, a tweet from the government of Pakistan said.
It said that Asian games will take place in Jakarta on August 18-September 2.
The boxers' training camp to prepare for the Asian Games 2018 is underway in Pakistan Sports Complex, said the tweet.
The Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) organizes all amateur matches countrywide. They are also responsible for scouting and raising boxers from Pakistan to compete on a worldwide level. Boxing in Pakistan is slowly rising in popularity due to which Pakistan has seen success at amateur level boxing despite lack of necessary equipment and facilities. They have won medals at the Olympic and Commonwealth Games.
