Pakistani media widely covers President Rouhani’s India visit

Islamabad, The electronic and print media in Pakistan in their reports gave wide converge to the recent visit of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to India.

Daily 'Dawn' in its report said Iran and India have signed agreements, including Tehran leasing to New Delhi operational control of part of the Iranian east coast port of Chabahar for 18 months.

The $85 million project, just 90km from Gwadar port, creates a transit route between India, Iran and Afghanistan.

Both sides deliberated extensively on intensifying cooperation in the oil sector and agreed to move beyond traditional 'buyer-seller' relationship and develop it into a long-term strategic partnership.

The president's visit to India took place at the official invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi who visited Iran last year.

During President Rouhani's visit, the two countries officials signed several agreements to expand relations between Iran and India in many fields.
