Pakistanis rally to condemn violence against Muslims in Myanmar
Islamabad, Sep 6, Different political parties and groups carried out a rally in Pakistan's Islamabad to condemn violence against Rohingya Muslim minority in Myanmar.
They urged international and Muslim communities and also Islamic organizations to take serious and effective steps to stop ongoing violence against Muslims in Myanmar.
They were carrying placards and banners demanding justice for the Rohingya Muslims.
Earlier this week, the government of Pakistan issued a formal statement condemning the violence against Rohingya Muslims.
Myanmar government recognizes no civilian right for the Rohingya community considering them as a group of refugees coming to Myanmar from Bangladesh. Probes by the UN have found evidence of increasing incitement of hatred and religious intolerance against Rohingyas.
International media and human rights organizations have often described Rohingyas as one of the most persecuted minorities in the world.
