Passengers burn alive in car fire in southern Iran
Six passengers were burned to death on Monday after a vehicle crashed into guard rails and burst into flames in Sirik Town in the southern province of Hormozgan, said public relations director at Iran's Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences.
Fatemeh Norouzian said one man and five women lost their lives in the explosion.
The provincial police chief said the cause of the incident, according to preliminary investigations, were excess of the speed limit, the driver's negligence and collision with the guard rails.
The details of the incident remain to be known, he added.
