People Return to Work in Eastern Aleppo’s Industrial Factories

Workers returned to factories in eastern Aleppo's Al-Arqoub district, Tuesday, following statements made the same week by Syrian Prime Minister Imad Khamis that restoration of the city's production abilities was a top priority, RuptlyTV reported on its YouTube Channel.

Machines that remained functional in a damaged textile factory in what was previously opposition-held Al-Arqoub district could be seen running.

Tractors and forklifts had begun to clear the streets of sandbags and rubble in a bid to bring the area back into working order, the report continued.

In the early years of the war, militants sold much of the machinery in Aleppo, the commercial center of Syria, to buyers in Turkey, stripping much of its industrial capacity.
