People’s trust gov’t greatest asset/ Contradiction in word and deed undermines people’s trust

Emphasising that the thirteenth government must be sincere and not make promises that cannot fulfil, the President said, "The biggest asset of the government is the people's trust in this government, and the contradiction in words and deeds undermines this trust."

Speaking on Wednesday in the cabinet meeting, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi thanked the Minister of Education for taking the initiative to hold classes and school exams in face-to-face manner, and said, "Everybody must do their best to compensate for the backwardness".

Dr Raisi continued by emphasising the need for meritocracy in any change and appointment in the government, addressing all officials and managers of executive bodies, saying, "If you have to retain managers under your subdivision, do it and if the transfer of a manager is necessary, accelerate it, because the executive body of the country must be coherent and motivated".

The President appreciated the efforts and actions of Tehran Municipality to collect drug addicts and organise the situation of child labour, and stated, "These measures, along with addressing the situation of addicts and child labour, will improve the security of citizens".

In another part of his speech, Ayatollah Raisi referred to the debates in the society about the interest of bank loans and the doubts in this regard, and noted, "This issue should be organised once and for all in the thirteenth government".
