POLICE SEIZE HUGE CACHE OF ARMS IN CENTRAL IRAN
TEHRAN, Iranian police seized a large amount of weapons and ammunition in the central province of Kerman, Xinhua news agency reported.
The large arms cache had been smuggled into the country through eastern borders for terrorist purposes, Kerman prosecutor Dadkhoda Salari told Press TV on Wednesday.
The arms included two anti-aircraft semi-heavy guns, 7,400 anti-aircraft bullets, 23 units of 73-mm anti-armour rockets and three motorcycles, two of which were specially designed for impassable areas.
He stressed that Iran's security, intelligence and judicial officials would not allow "thugs and counter-revolutionary" elements to endanger the country's security.
