Pompeo concerned on Iran role in Muslims’ unity
Tehran, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in a statement expressed concern over recent remarks made by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani addressing the 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran.
'Iranian President Rouhani has once again called for the destruction of Israel. He referred to it as a cancerous tumor and a fake regime, the statement reads.
Claiming that Rouhani's remarks will create tensions in the region, he said Iran is not a friend of US and Israel.
Addressing the Unity Conference in Tehran, Rouhani earlier said that 'the dispute between us and the United States is because they want the world to think American, respect American values, but we say all humans are free.'
The United States wants the countries in the region to be its slaves, President Rouhani added.
'They say, their interests should always be met and we say, World bullies cannot determine our path,' he reiterated.
Rouhani went on to criticize the West, especially the US and Britain, for creating the veto right, then using it to create the 'Cancerous Gland' of the region, namely the fake regime of Israel.
