President: Iran, Turkey enhanced ties to help peace, stability
Tehran, President Hassan Rouhani underlined strengthening and developing banking ties between Iran and Turkey, and said that consolidation of bilateral ties would be beneficial for both nations and the whole region.
According to a report by the Presidential Office website on Wednesday, President Rouhani made the remarks in a meeting with Economic Minister of Turkey Nihat Zeybekci.
The two countries enjoy plenty of historical, cultural commonalties and deepening of bilateral, regional and international relations between the two countries would benefit both nations and establishment of peace and stability in the region and the world, the Iranian president said.
He added that the two countries still have plenty of capacities for bolstering ties in the fields of politics, economy and culture.
President Rouhani pointed out that undoubtedly in the way of development of trade and economic cooperation and activities of the private sector between the two states, development of banking ties will play a remarkable role.
Nihat Zeybekci, who is in Tehran at the head of a high-ranking economic delegation, said that Turkey intends to remove obstacles which prevent easing of the economic relations and take big steps in the way of consolidation of mutual cooperation.
He said that Turkey believes in special importance for development of ties and all-out cooperation with Iran and intends by drawing a road map to promote cooperation level with Tehran.
