President Rouhani congratulates new Pakistan PM

Tehran, Iran is ready to expand ties and cooperations with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, said President Rouhani in his congratulation message to new Pakistani Prime minister-elect.

Elsewhere in his letter to Imran Ahmad Khan Niazi, the president said, I sincerely congratulate on your election as the Pakistan prime minister which rose up from the will of the brave and distinguished Pakistani nation, said President Rouhani according to the official website of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Rouhani emphasized that Iran is ready to broaden ties and cooperation with Pakistan.

Ahmad Khan, the head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, was elected as the 22nd Prime Minister by the parliament of Pakistan.

Imran Khan secured 176 votes in the parliamentary meeting to elect the prime minister while his opponent Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz received 96.

Tehreek-e-Insaf Party won the parliament election on June 25 by securing 115 out of 270 seats in Pakistan parliament.
