President Rouhani to attend UNGA session in New York: Spokesman

Tehran, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Monday that President Hassan Rouhani will attend the 73th United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing in Tehran, Qasemi said the presence of Iran's president at UN General Assembly is a great opportunity for holding several meetings at the levels of president and foreign ministers on the sidelines of the meeting.

However, Qasemi did not give an exact date for the president's visit to New York.

The 73rd UN General Assembly starts on September 18 and continues until September 25.

The United Nations General Assembly annual meetings which are held regularly in September in New York are the biggerst political gathering in the world in which tens of world leaders takepart and address the meetings on the most critical national and international issuse.
